Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician

Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (Night Shift)
Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Pay Details:

For Local Candidates pay rate: $30 to $33/hr (If your permanent address is within 50 miles from the facility)

For Travelers/Stipend Candidates (If your permanent address is outside the 50 mile radius from the facility):
Blended Hourly W2 Pay Rate: $32.00
Blended Weekly Gross Pay Rate: $1,280
Minimum Hourly W2 Pay Rate: $15.00
Min. W2 Weekly Gross (Taxable): $600.00
Weekly Stipend (Non-Taxable): $680.00

For Traveler 1099 Candidates:
Pay Rate on 1099 to the Candidate: $33.00
Weekly 1099 Traveler Pay Rate: $1,320.00

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sterile Processing Technician to join the team at Community Hospital in Grand Junction, CO. This 13-week contract offers night shift hours from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, guaranteeing 40 hours per week. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in sterile processing and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strict standards of sterilization and safety for surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and organize designated supplies to assigned areas in the hospital.
• Ensure all equipment and supplies are available for each surgical case.
• Process surgical instruments in accordance with AMMI recommended practices.
• Safely decontaminate contaminated instruments in a timely manner.
• Ensure proper assembly of surgical sets and instruments for procedures.
• Complete and ensure accuracy of instrument count sheets.
• Assist OR staff in locating instruments needed for surgeries.
• Maintain accurate records of sterilization for the Surgery department and other departments, following recommended practices.
• Reestablish a clean and safe environment, including cleaning rooms and removing linens/disposables in accordance with regulatory policies.
• Clean, prepare, and maintain supplies for surgical procedures (e.g., laryngoscope blades, tubing, filters, specialty pumps).

Qualifications:

• Experience: At least 2 years of experience in sterile processing or a similar role.
• Licensure/Certification:
• Current, unrestricted licensure as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) in the State of Colorado is preferred.
• BLS certification preferred.
• Skills:
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow established procedures.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Other:
• Must be able to comprehend, speak, and write in English.
• Must be comfortable with on-call shifts and weekend coverage.
