Job Overview:
This position reports to the Community Impact Manager. The Community Engagement Officer does not just sell services; they create connections and relationships. This role will focus on building meaningful relationships, increasing Raiz memberships and accounts, representing the credit union in community and business development events, and executing events for the community to help promote the credit union’s products and services.

Hourly, Full-Time
Hours: Monday thru Friday, occasional Saturdays

Qualifications
Skills and Experience
- Associate’s degree in business (or a related field) or a minimum of two years of experience in sales in place of a formal degree.
- A minimum of two years of sales experience with a focus on financial services is a prerequisite.
- Demonstrates a robust understanding of the principles and practices of effective marketing.
- Exhibits solid interpersonal and public relations skills and the ability to create and deliver compelling presentations.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills are a forte.
- Well-organized and highly attentive to detail in all aspects of work.
- Commands knowledge and possesses above-average experience in the use of software, including proficiency in MS Office products.
- Openness to working flexible hours, including evenings, before or after standard shifts, and weekends as needed.
- Reliable transportation is a requirement.
- Public speaking required.
- Serve as a financial counselor, supporting credit union members and the broader community through formalized programs.
- Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
Role Description and Essential Duties

- Develop and maintain effective public relations with members, business professionals, and external contacts.
- Identify, solicit, and contact prospective key individuals within existing groups to expand memberships.
- Visit prospective members, ensuring they're well-informed about our services and policies.
- Create relationships with business and community partners to expand membership growth opportunities.
- Expand existing memberships by encouraging new product participation and exploring new opportunities.
- Establish effective communication channels, promptly resolving member requests and questions.
- Promote all products and services through cross-selling to meet members’ needs.
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of Raiz’s products and services.
- Keep abreast of the credit union's mission, displaying it consistently.
- Participate in continuing education as approved by the supervisor.
- Participate in community, professional, and business organizations to promote the credit union’s products and services.
- Develop, implement, and participate in partnership programs and business development.
- Represent the Credit Union at trade meetings and seminars, making presentations on financial services.
- Ensure the credit union’s professional reputation is maintained.
- Promptly and courteously resolve questions and concerns.
- Coordinate all aspects of events and make financial wellness presentations in various settings.
- Assist the marketing department in events and special functions as needed.
- Complies with all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) rules and regulations, in addition to Customer Identification Program (CIP). Attends required annual BSA training and required compliance training.
- Assist with all other duties as assigned or identified.
