Job Overview:
This position reports to the Indirect Lending Manager and Indirect Assistant Lending Manager. Responsible for providing indirect loan services to Raiz FCU members/potential members through all participating auto dealerships. Responsible for quality control and funding new and used vehicle loans, assuring that each loan is properly prepared, documented and complete. Diligently reviews paystubs for fraud and ensures income verifies as stated on application. Opens new accounts for potential members while adhering to regulations. Tracks and follows up with dealers on delinquent titles. Maintains a positive and productive relationship with our dealer partners and will coach dealers as needed to avoid recurring funding delays. Must have a thorough understanding of Credit Union lending programs, policies and procedures. Meets or exceeds all funding goals with minimum errors. This position requires someone who is highly motivated, positive and can clearly and effectively communicate with dealership finance departments.

Qualifications
Skills and experience:
- Education – High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of consumer lending experience
- Previous credit union or indirect lending experience is a plus
- Dealer and member oriented
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of financial industry concepts, related laws and regulations
- Understands the principals of underwriting to ensure loans are within the Credit Union’s guidelines, policies and procedures
- Must be able to work independently and make sound and accurate decisions
- Critical thinking, problem solving, and simple math calculations
- Professional phone etiquette, appearance and attitude
- Well organized, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Strong multi-tasking, teamwork, focus, and sense of urgency
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and web-based applications
Role Description and Essential Duties
- Assumes responsibility for providing effective clerical support for all phases of indirect loan processing and new account opening.
- Responsible for verifying loan documents for proper signatures, missing information, fraudulent documents, errors, noncompliance issues and vehicle values. Reaches out to members and dealers in order to gather missing documents, resolves questions and fund loans within established service level agreement. Provides detailed comments in reference to tasked items and conversations with dealers and members concerning loans. Builds relationships with dealers and members by providing guidance and answering questions related to credit union’s lending programs, policies, rates, and procedures. Opens new accounts for potential members. Ensures confidentiality of credit union and member information and maintains the Credit union’s professional reputation. Supports and assists other lending areas.
- Products and Services: Knowledgeable lending expert who is educated on all indirect loan products and services provided. Has understanding of collections policy, verification of income, fraud prevention, and title work and the impact they have on our credit union’s financial health. Attends required training, demonstrates eagerness to keep learning, and applies new knowledge to their role.
- Systems: Has clear understanding of loan origination and core systems and related software applications. Performs minor maintenance on systems including updating forms, reviewing payment history, downloading documents, and researching outstanding items.
- Dealer & Member Education: Acting as an empowering mentor to provide guidance to our members and dealers in order to build trust. Demonstrates the ability to give sound advice considering our dealer and members’ best interests. Meets with dealership personnel to educate them about required loan documents, address funding delays, foster collaboration, and increase efficiency.
- Communication: A natural communicator who picks up on dealer and member’s concerns and expresses things in a simple way they can relate to. Helps them understand complex or intimidating topics, so dealer and member’s feel more empowered via knowledge. Communicates via phone, loan origination system, e-mails, mailed letters, in person meetings, and other accepted methods of communication. Provides honest and direct feedback to team members addressing any concerns, suggesting process improvement ideas, and ensuring consistency within department.
- Compliance: Complies with all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) rules and regulations, in addition to Customer Identification Program (CIP), Fair Lending Regulations and Military Lending Act (MLA). Attends required annual BSA training and required compliance training. Ensures all loan documents are in accordance to established policies and guidelines and meets legal requirements.
