We are seeking a highly skilled Simulation Engineer (CAE) with 5 years of experience and U.S. Green Card (Permanent Residency required) to join our client’s dynamic engineering team.
Position Overview:
This direct-hire role focuses on mechanical and thermal simulations, with an emphasis on thermal component and system analysis, root cause investigation, and product development for high-volume production. The ideal candidate should have experience working with complex mechanical assemblies, performing multi-phase thermal simulations, and collaborating with both internal teams and customers to optimize engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the technical interface for the customer team in Cupertino, presenting technical documents and discussing design solutions.
- Perform complex simulations for mechanical and thermal systems, conducting root cause analysis, FMEA, and optimization studies.
- Work closely with factory engineering/manufacturing teams and customers to align priorities, troubleshoot issues, and ensure seamless production processes.
- Lead multi-phase thermal simulations and recommend design modifications to improve product performance.
- Drive design solutions that enhance efficiency, reliability, and manufacturability while meeting industry standards.
- Identify and communicate priorities effectively across cross-functional teams, ensuring project goals are met.
- Travel internationally (up to 40% travel to Asia) to assist with customer visits, build activities, and factory collaboration.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in simulation engineering, CAE, or related mechanical/thermal design roles.
- U.S. Green Card holder (Permanent Residency required).
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Expertise in thermal system and component design, with hands-on experience in multi-phase thermal simulations.
- Strong proficiency in root cause analysis, deductive reasoning, and FMEA techniques related to thermal components and systems.
- Experience with sheet metal, MIM, CNC, and plastics design and manufacturing processes.
- Working knowledge of GD&T, statistical process control (Cp, Cpk, tolerance analysis, etc.), and engineering part/assembly drawings.
- Excellent communication skills, including experience presenting technical documents to stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage priorities in fast-paced, high-volume production environments.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Experience with advanced thermal technologies, materials, or processes.
- Experience with automated assembly processes.
- Previous work with factories in China and/or Mandarin language skills.
- Familiarity with MacOS and industry-standard CAE tools.
