Location: Eligible for in office (hybrid) in New York, Chicago, San Mateo or San Francisco
Overview:
Supporting the global marketing team, the Director, Marketing North America is an integral role for Rakuten Advertising. By leading in-country activities across the North America and other core markets around the world, this role will increase the awareness of our brand with a specific focus on executing marketing programs that support revenue generating campaigns for key verticals and countries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with senior leadership to develop integrated country-specific marketing plans with impactful marketing programs that are aligned to regional revenue targets and verticals.
  • Own, develop, and manage the North America regional marketing budget and support other regional budget planning along with keeping a close eye on measuring, optimizing, and reporting on programs to ensure activities are effective with a clear ROI.
  • Manage all aspects of hosted and sponsored events in North America including pre-, during- and post-event activity with sales and commercial teams.
  • Create regional thought leadership strategies that drive local brand awareness and support key business messaging.
  • Manage, develop, and support regional content for all blogs and socials, collaborating with creative, marketing ops, email, website, product marketing and other teams.
  • Work alongside product for the go-to-market strategy and execution of initiatives and product launches, including internal and external email communications.
  • Support translations when necessary, ensuring all published content is of a professional standard and accurately reflects the Rakuten Advertising brand and positioning.
  • Provide ad-hoc reports and ongoing campaign performance progress to stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):
  • Able to perform the above duties with a high level of excellence, managing effective communication, collaboration and relationship building skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of B2B marketing and content marketing best practices while developing multi-channel execution.
  • Ability to write engaging content, adjusted for the audience, the medium, and spend.
  • Experience of budget management/ROI analysis and reporting to different stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, coupled with the proven ability to set priorities and manage deadlines and multi-task across.
  • Data-driven, results-focused and organized with a strong desire to succeed and progress, make things happen in a creative, solution-focused way.
  • Adaptive to change with a positive, can-do mentality, even when under pressure.
Qualification Requirements:
  • 5-7 years of experience in a multi-channel marketing role within a B2B technology, SAAS or digital marketing business focusing on ecommerce.
  • Proficiency using marketing platforms and project management tools such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Jira and other enterprise-level project management tools.
  • BA or BS degree in business marketing, communications or another relevant field
  • Read, write and generate content to a professional standard in English.
  • Understanding of the online marketing and retail sectors and trends within the performance marketing industry (affiliate marketing a plus but not required).

At the time of posting, Rakuten expects the base compensation for this role to be within the range shown below. Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location. The successful applicant for this role will be eligible for discretionary bonus, health, vision, dental insurance, 401k matching, PTO, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), and other employee benefits as the company implements.
