About the Role: Are you ready to take the helm and help guide our team through every emergency situation at one of the busiest airports in the skies? As a Telecommunications Supervisor, you’ll be the trusted co-pilot, reporting directly to the Airport Communications Center Manager. You’ll lead a talented crew, ensuring that all communication lines stay open, clear, and ready to spring into action when it matters most. Your mission will be to oversee personnel and handle everything from initiating emergency responses to keeping vital records flying smoothly. You’ll be a key navigator in ensuring that RDU Airport Communications Center is always in compliance with all the rules, regulations, and policies that keep our operations running like clockwork.
Compensation Range:
Maximum – Based on experience
Minimum - $26.88
What You’ll Do:
- DCI system, 911 dispatch and emergency/non-emergency communications procedures, FAA
and FCC policies and procedures, and jurisdictions of various emergency service agencies. - Airport facilities physical layout and practices and procedures of law enforcement, fire,
- Plan, organize, schedule, and direct the work of subordinate personnel including training,
motivation, coaching, and evaluating work performance. - Exercise sound judgment and remain calm under stressful conditions
- Monitor, inspect, and quality control the work of the communications center.
What You Need:
Education
Required:
High school diploma or equivalency
Preferred:
College degree focused on management, or public safety administration
Experience
Required:
3 years public safety dispatching experience within an airport or 911 emergency
communications center
Preferred:
Supervisory experience within an airport or public safety agency
Licenses or Certifications
Required:
Valid NC Driver’s License
Must obtain and maintain CPR/AED, all current APCO and NC requirements, NIMS
certifications and any other required standards within 1 year of start date.
Division of Criminal Information (DCI) Certification preferred or able to obtain certification
within 6 months after hire.
