Position Summary :
Performs laboratory analysis and quality control testing following clearly defined criteria
Reports any unusual conditions to the Senior Tech, Coordinator over that area, in the absence of the Director or Pathologist.
Performs procedures in assigned section of the laboratoryMaintains quality control in performance of procedures and responsible for maintenance and calibrationResponsible for maintenance and calibration on equipment and maintaining cleanliness of work area.Performs collections, clerical duties and administrativeResponsible for order and result entry into laboratory information systemsDelivers direct patient care appropriate to the age of patient served
Reports to : Director of Laboratory
Qualifications
Minimum EducationBachelor’s degree Required Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. One year concentrated work experience in a clinical Lab or Laboratory Specialty. Required Licenses[West Virginia, United States] Other
Registry from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent registry OR eligible for ASCP certification and will test / receive license within 90 days of hire.WV State Laboratory Technologist licensure required.
