What You Will Do
The Payroll Associate will perform a variety of general clerical duties in support of specific department programs and initiatives. Responsibilities include maintaining documentation and files, entering and maintaining data in the human resources information system(s), researching and resolving routine to moderately complex inquiries and discrepancies according to established procedures, preparing and distributing routine reports, complying with applicable regulatory requirements and union contract rules and performing function duties as assigned. This job classification requires general knowledge of office procedures and regulatory requirements in area of specialty, the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and demonstrated organizational and problem solving skills.

- You will maintain documentation and files.
- You will perform audits of files as necessary.
- You will enter and maintain data in the human resources information system(s) and/or related databases.
- You will provide payroll clerical support to produce weekly payroll within specific time requirements including but not limited to processing third party sick leave, apprentice pay programs, special payroll groups and wage garnishments.
- You will perform research to answer routine to moderately complex inquiries.
- You will resolve routine discrepancies according to established procedures.
- You will escalate complex inquiries to higher-level assistants, partners and/or department management.
- You will compiles data from various sources and prepare and distribute routine reports.
- You will comply with any applicable regulatory requirements and union contract rules as they relate to area of specialty.
- You will perform a variety of general office clerical support duties.

Must Haves
- High School Diploma or G.E.D
- Experience with PeopleSoft preferred.
- General knowledge of office procedures.
- General knowledge of regulatory requirements in area of specialty.
- Ability to operate office equipment, a personal computer and related software applications including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Ability to type with sufficient speed and accuracy to perform job functions as required.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to operate a 10-key by touch.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations to include additions, multiplication, subtraction, division, percentages and decimals.
