Job Summary:
We seek a highly organized and meticulous Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for financial, administrative, and clerical support of the finance department by processing accounts payable transactions to ensure the smooth functioning of our finance department. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and experience with financial software systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Invoice processing, including three-way matching.
- Reconciling vendor statements and communicating with vendors, purchasing, and coworkers to resolve invoice-related issues and discrepancies.
- Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Facilitating payments to vendors, processing and cutting checks on the fly, and communicating with the controller on invoice and payment-related issues.
- Reconciling payment issues with vendors, placing stop payments, and voiding/reissuing payments.
- Coordinate with warehouses to have the receipts created when needed.
- Assists with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.
- Provide invoices and check copies for management, purchasing, project managers, and vendors.
- Communicate effectively with other Administrative Assistants.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the hiring manager.
Required Education/Experience:
- A high school diploma is required; a business or accounting degree is preferred.
- Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) certification preferred.
- 3-5 years’ experience in a related position or an acceptable combination of education and experience
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations
- Proficient in using financial software systems.
- Effective communication and people skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
Technology:
- Knowledgeable of PO/Receipt systems
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related programs.
Work Environment:
- The employee will be subject to an indoor office setting surrounded by fellow employees.
Travel: No traveling involved in this role.
