QUALITY ASSURANCE TECHNICIAN
Reports to: Quality Manager
JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to join our team in a metal stamping environment. This role is responsible for setup, in-process, and final inspection of stamped metal parts, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and IATF16949 standards. The technician will also oversee the calibration and maintenance of measurement devices to guarantee accuracy in quality control processes.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary - Mission of the Job
Performs Inspections of products to approved customer specifications requirements. Alert Quality Manager to any potential quality problems found during in-process inspections. Stops non-conforming product from being produced when found . Achieve departmental objectives and goals.
Responsibilities – Expectations of the Job
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections of metal-stamped components.
- Set up and verify measurement tools and gauges before production runs.
- Conduct dimensional and visual inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM, and other precision instruments.
- Document inspection results and report non-conformances to production and quality teams.
- Assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues.
- Maintain and manage the calibration schedule for all measurement devices.
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, customer requirements, and internal quality standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in internal audits.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality concerns.
- Maintain your work area in a clean and organized manner per 5S (good housekeeping)
- Safety – follow company safety policy and responsible to report to management unsafe conditions or near-misses - Report any un-safe conditions that are noticed to the Safety
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in metal stamping quality assurance or a related field.
- Knowledge of IATF16949 quality standards and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring tools and performing calibrations.
- Ability to read and interpret GD&T, and engineering drawings.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with CMM operation and programming is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Education & Experience:
- 5 years of experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing environment, preferably metal stamping.
- Familiarity with ISO9001 and IATF16949 quality management systems.
