Title: Head Girls JV Volleyball Coach

Classification: Non-exempt - (Seasonal)
Job Description:
The JV Head Coach is responsible for all aspects of the program, including team members and all other coaches, while abiding by the rules and regulations established by the California Interscholastic Federation, the League, and Rancho Community Church & Schools. He/She shall implement an exemplary sports program that will effectively provide the best possible education for each student-athlete. He/She will also work closely with the Varsity Head Coach and follow the guidelines and philosophy for the entire program.
Areas of Expected Proficiency:
Knowledge of CIF rules and regulations.
Understanding of all volleyball game and practice strategies
Direct the training, conditioning and performance of the football program
Instruct athletes on correct form and techniques in beginning and advanced exercises to develop the maximum physical potential of each player.
Oversee each player as they develop and enhance his/her individual skills and ability.
Lead and supervise assistant coaches
Coach all players in all games and practices
Build a culture of connection & Christian fellowship with team members and future members.
Other Expectations:
Schedule season games
Execute any off-season programs within CIF guidelines
Promote positive interaction with and among the student-athletes, the school, church and community.
Demonstrate enthusiasm for coaching and learning.
Encourage self-direction and self-motivation in all athletes
Possess the ability to adjust instruction of strategy and fundamentals to student-athletes needs and interests.
Possess the ability to plan and maintain an organized football program based on effective long range plans.
Oversee field care and maintenance.
Regularly attend & participate in athletic department meetings.
Attend all on-campus and off-campus football games.
Develop a fundraising program for the volleyball program and the facility.
Be responsible for the home game management of facilities and staff.
Must have a familiarity with computer systems, good oral and written communication skills, organizational and management skills.
Must be assertive, friendly, cooperative, flexible, tactful, dependable and logical and work in a collaborative manner with multiple departments, offices and staff members.
Must be able to deal with discretion in confidential and sensitive issues, problem solve and work independently.
Ability to prioritize duties and be organized, and detail oriented.
Ability to work well with a wide range of situations (including difficult people), while maintaining the decorum of a representative of a Christian school.
Monitor academic progress of all student athletes towards graduation and potentially a college or university.
Additional duties may include special camps, retreats and conferences.

Requirements:
Experience preferred
Successfully pass Live Scan criminal background check prior to hire
Obtain certificate of negative result for TB screening prior to hire
CPR/First Aid certified/AED
NFHS Concussion Certification
NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certification
Spiritual Qualifications:
Demonstrate a passion for Christ and his Kingdom through personal spiritual discipline.
Seek to grow in that relationship with Christ through personal spiritual discipline, education, accountability and service to his Kingdom.
Professional Qualifications:
Experience: At least 1-3 years coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level.
Demonstrate strong knowledge of the sport as it pertains to California Interscholastic
Demonstrate strong leadership in player and staff development
Possess strong communication and organizational skills
Commitment of seeking to grow in these areas, through additional training.
Hold CPR/First Aid/AED certification
Pass NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest Course with Certificate
Pass NFHS Concussion Course with Certificate
Have proof of negative TB screening within the last four years
Education: Bachelors Preferred
