Field Botany Technician
Job Description :
Performs general maintenance duties including : painting, maintenance of buildings,
maintenance of pathways; assist in maintenance of irrigation systems, vehicles, garden carts,
- and other various equipment;
- Perform setups for Garden functions including : positioning tables, chairs, and other props as
required at various locations throughout the Garden. Garden functions, requiring set up,
occur throughout the year during the week and on weekends, days and evenings.
Janitorial duties include, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, waxing and polish floors, dustingfurniture and blinds, cleaning lavatories, replenishing supplies, carpet cleaning, window
washing, trash removal, etc.
Performs plumbing and electrical repairs.Locks up building and checks grounds for late visitors. Opens and closes front gate forgarden events.
Inspect and perform routine maintenance on electric golf carts, vehicles, small enginebuildings and other equipment as needed.
Run vehicle diagnostic and safety checks to discover functionality issues.Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliabilityTroubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely mannerReplenish fluids and components of golf carts, vehicles, small engines and other equipment.Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to golf cart vehicleand small engine and building users.
Undertake other duties as assigned (e.g. general maintenance etc.)Keep logs of work and reports on vehicle issuesRequirements
Must have a High School diploma or equivalency.Knowledge of custodial, building and equipment maintenance.Knowledge and ability to work safely with maintenance tools and equipment.Able to work in a safety-conscious manner.One or two years of experience in general maintenance.Valid California driver's license.Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English.Ability to work successfully with others and independently with minimal supervision.Must be flexible and willing to work days, evenings and weekends.
