We are seeking a motivated and friendly Bakery Clerk to join our team. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting bakery items.
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations on products, including ingredients and preparation methods.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process transactions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery area, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
- Assist in restocking shelves and displays with fresh baked goods.
- Upsell additional items to enhance customer purchases and increase sales.
- Handle food items with care, adhering to proper food handling procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations within the bakery department.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a food service environment, preferably in a grocery store or quick service fast food restaurant.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of food handling practices and safety regulations.
- Experience with sales techniques and upselling is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 18 – 24 per week
