Bakery Counter Clerk

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and friendly Bakery Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while assisting customers with their bakery needs. You will play a key role in maintaining the bakery's presentation and ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards. Your ability to upsell and promote our delicious baked goods will contribute to an enjoyable shopping experience for our customers.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting bakery items.
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations on products, including ingredients and preparation methods.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process transactions.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery area, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
• Assist in restocking shelves and displays with fresh baked goods.
• Upsell additional items to enhance customer purchases and increase sales.
• Handle food items with care, adhering to proper food handling procedures.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations within the bakery department.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a food service environment, preferably in a grocery store or quick service fast food restaurant.
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Basic knowledge of food handling practices and safety regulations.
• Experience with sales techniques and upselling is a plus.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
