Low Voltage Technician / Security System Installer / Technology Technician

RanderCom is looking to hire a technician with emphasis/interest in low voltage installation, security system installation, and general practical technology applications. The technician would spend most days out in the field travelling between sites and going to various jobs. Every day is a little different but most of the time you are out with another technician or out on your own on various jobsites. We are low voltage contractors. We also spend time at our office programming, troubleshooting, and preparing systems for installation at a customer's location.

Cabling (Fiber, Cat 5e, Cat 6, Coax, Low Voltage Wire): RanderCom installs all types of low voltage / data cable, Fiber, Cat 5e, Cat 6, Coax, low voltage wire. This includes necessary cable management hardware such as J Hooks and others. The technician would perform physical installation of cabling infrastructure. Must be comfortable on ladders and aerial lifts.

Camera / Surveillance Systems: RanderCom sells and installs surveillance systems (IP and CCTV). Technician would program IP surveillance system and perform physical installation.

Access Control / Door Entry: RanderCom sells and installs access control systems. We can program the system and provide ongoing service. This includes basic systems to enterprise level systems. Technician would program access control system and perform physical installation of readers, strikes, and related components.

Security / Intrusion System: RanderCom sells and installs security / intrusion systems. We program the system and provide ongoing service as well as set up ongoing monitoring through a central monitoring station. Technician would program security system and perform physical installation.

From a pay range we would start around $20 - $25 per hour based on experience. Paid vacation, local travel, and a flexible schedule overall. Paid cell phone, company match Simple IRA, health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, company vehicle, life insurance, short term / long term disability, other benefits. Travel is mostly local (home most nights), but sometimes hotel stays are needed.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience with low voltage systems and cabling and terminations of wiring.
  • Familiarity with security system schematics and design.
  • Experience in field service, strong troubleshooting ability, ability to adapt and improvise.
  • Ability to work with hand and power tools effectively and safely.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot low voltage cabling and various security systems.
  • Supply and safely utilize hand and power tools to perform cabling and electrical work according to schematics.
  • Conduct field service visits to assess and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their security needs and provide tailored solutions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
