Randolph House Hotel, a new and exciting addition to the vibrant hospitality scene in Liverpool/North Syracuse, is preparing to open its doors in March 2025! We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Hotel Maintenance Technician to join our team and ensure the smooth operation of our property.

Job Summary:
As a Hotel Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining the functionality, safety, and appearance of the hotel by performing repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the property. You will ensure all hotel systems and equipment are running efficiently and address any maintenance issues promptly to provide a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
General Maintenance and Repairs:
- Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on hotel facilities, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and equipment.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to identify and resolve issues before they affect guest comfort or safety.
- Handle minor repairs in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas to ensure the property remains in excellent condition.
- Troubleshoot and repair guest room appliances, lighting, HVAC units, and plumbing fixtures.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure that all maintenance work is performed in compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and hotel policies.
- Conduct safety inspections of hotel systems and equipment to minimize the risk of accidents or safety hazards.
- Maintain the proper functioning of fire alarms, emergency lighting, and other safety equipment.
Team Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with other departments, especially housekeeping and front desk, to address any maintenance issues that may affect guest satisfaction.
- Respond to maintenance requests promptly and professionally, minimizing disruptions to guests.
- Assist in the training of new maintenance staff and provide guidance on proper maintenance procedures.
Inventory and Supply Management:
- Maintain an inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts, ensuring that necessary supplies are always available.
- Monitor and order supplies as needed to ensure smooth operations.
Administrative Tasks:
- Keep accurate records of maintenance tasks completed, supplies used, and work orders.
- Assist in budget tracking for maintenance expenses.
- Report major repairs or replacements needed to management for further action.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in maintenance or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance or a similar role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Knowledge of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance practices.
- Ability to use maintenance tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with a team.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
