Job Description:
We are seeking a Construction Support Specialist to work directly with our Assistant Construction Project Manager, Construction Manager, Site Safety Manager, Field Engineers, and various subcontractors to facilitate safe, efficient, compliant, and cost-effective execution of our construction work.
Responsibilities:
- Taking personal ownership and responsibility for ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and standard operating procedures in the field
- Maintaining open communication with the Construction Manager and Field Engineers
- Supporting consistent implementation of all site-specific HSE and environmental plans and objectives
- Providing visible support and leadership to project stakeholders by supporting safe execution of complicated, high-risk construction activities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in safety, engineering, construction management or related field
- Minimum 1-3 years of demonstrated construction experience and managing subcontractors, preferably within environmental remediation construction
- OSHA 40/8-hour HAZWOPER certification
- Experience with documenting field and/or construction activities in a Logbook and in photo logs
- Experience with preparing daily construction reports
- Experience and familiarity with air monitoring equipment, specifically 5-gas meters and PIDs – instrumentation calibration and maintenance experience is critical
- Experience with donning and doffing Level C PPE
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
- Demonstrated interpersonal relations and personnel management skills
The ideal candidate will have experience with construction oversight, environmental remediation, air monitoring (such as in the breathing zone with a photo ionization detector [PID] or similar), air monitoring equipment maintenance and calibration, field documentation, and supporting management of day-to-day construction operations.
