Title: Chemist
Location: North Chicago, IL
Pay: $25-30/hr
Contract: 6 months
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct sample analysis using a variety of analytical techniques as needed, for example, HPLC-DAD/UV, GC, KF, UV, IR, IC, LC-MS, and GC-MS, by completely follow established experimental protocols and assess results with minimal supervision after initial training
- Document experimental activities and results in a GMP compliant fashion using an electronic data acquisition and management systems.
- Recognize and report experimental variances
- Troubleshoot experiments and instrumentation.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and optimize laboratory operations for efficient use of time and laboratory supplies/reagents when appropriate
- Consult literature to understand the scientific purpose of assignments.
- Conduct test method development and validations under supervision
- Apply basic scientific principles to research
- Learn and effectively implement new experimental protocols and/or techniques
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or closely related scientific field
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with HPLC analysis, including basic troubleshooting skills
- Some experience and understanding of organic chemistry with respect formation of impurities in small molecule pharmaceuticals
