ObjectiveThe Senior Counsel position reports directly to Randstad's Senior Deputy General Counsel. This position is responsible for a variety of complex legal matters and projects and provides legal counsel and guidance on the ordinary and special activities of the organization. This position ensures maximum protection of the organization's legal rights; promotes compliance with federal, state and local laws; and manages litigation and administrative charges involving the company.What you get to do :
- Provide legal support on various human resources and field operational matters, including disciplinary issues, allegations of discrimination or retaliation, wage and hour issues, non-competition disputes, client inquiries and indemnification demands.
- Responsible for formulating strategy for and managing the Company's response to and defense of various state and federal charges and complaints, including lawsuits, EEOC charges, OSHA complaints, pre-litigation disputes, DOL complaints and audits.
- Review and draft various Company employment agreements, settlement and severance agreements, onboarding documents and policies; and partner with internal departments to communicate and implement policies and practices.
- Oversight of other various legal matters and projects, including researching new laws and updating policies and practices to maintain compliance; ensuring competition compliance; promoting awareness of and compliance with the Company's misconduct reporting procedure and business principles.What you need to bring : Education and Qualifications (Required and Preferred) :
- Law school; Juris Doctorate Degree required
- Five or more years of professional legal experience. In-house or labor and employment litigation experience preferredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding of federal and state labor and employment laws
- Proficiency in counseling HR professionals with respect to various legal issues
- Preferred strong litigation background
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while effectively prioritizing matters
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication, presentation and customer service skills
