DESCRIPTION of a Local Contract Nurse RN Oncology Position at Moab Regional Hospital
Rang Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled local contract nurse RN with oncology expertise to join our Outpatient Nursing Services team at Moab Regional Hospital. This position offers the opportunity to work in a rural setting, providing consistent care and learning new things every day.
The successful candidate will be passionate about cultivating nourishing relationships with patients, understanding the value of working closely with a small group of patients due to the hospital's location. They will be excited to perform a wide range of general nursing duties, specializing in infusion therapy and chemotherapy.
This position is a non-exempt, full-time, benefitted role with an anticipated schedule of day shifts. The starting pay range is $31 – 44.88/hour, depending on experience, and a $10,000 sign-on bonus is available for permanent, full-time hire, with a 2-year service agreement.
Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough assessments of patients' health status before, during, and after chemotherapy infusion sessions. Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate. Administer simple to complex infusion therapy for chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy treatments. Monitor and document vital signs, symptoms, and overall response to treatment. Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including discharge needs, initiating referrals for physical, financial, spiritual, and psychosocial support needs. Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Implement and monitor patient care plans. Participate in quality improvement initiatives. May precept student nurses and new hires. Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study. Will float between oncology/infusion and wound care departments.
Minimum requirements: Current, unencumbered Utah or compact state RN license. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current BLS and ACLS certifications, or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire. Current ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration Certificate, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. Knowledge of infection control principles, patient safety techniques, and prevention of adverse reactions to medications/treatments. Demonstrated critical thinking skills and ability to maintain same in situations with rapidly changing circumstances. Self-motivated and able to work successfully both independently and as part of a team.
