About the Job
Rang Healthcare is seeking a skilled Histology Technician to work on a local contract basis in Augusta, Maine.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting Histopathologists with laboratory tasks, including tissue processing, microtomy, and staining. This is a 52-week contract position requiring a bachelor's degree and three years of recent experience in Histology and Cytology.
Responsibilities
- Selecting and preparing tissue samples for analysis.
- Dissecting and examining resected tissue using biopsies, aspirated tissue, and frozen tissue sections.
- Performing histopathological examinations, including accessioning, embedding, and staining.
- Collaborating with Histopathologists to ensure accurate and timely results.
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting any discrepancies or concerns.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Three years of recent experience in Histology and Cytology.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detailed oriented with strong analytical skills.
