As a member of the Sustaining Engineering team, you would join other smart, talented, and dedicated engineers that pride themselves in analyzing the most difficult challenges for the launch-test range while developing and delivering solutions to meet the needs of the US Space Force and their customers.
This position is located at Patrick Space Force Base.
This position may be eligible for a hybrid telecommuting schedule.
Essential Functions
- Provide leadership in support of the Command Destruct, Data Handling and Range Safety Subsystems for the Eastern Range (ER)
and Western Range (WR)and maintain situational awareness of all activities and issues related to assigned subsystems - Lead and conduct Subsystem Working Group (SSWG) meetings to ensure subsystem needs and deficiencies are being addressed and that a resolution/way ahead plan is in place. This includes at a minimum reviewing and dispositioning Deficiency Reports, DMSMS cases, Risks, Spare Part Levels and Anomaly Reports and Launch Customer Program Requirements Documents.
- Identify, document, and prioritize assigned subsystem needs/deficiencies
- Support the development of annual and out year spend plans to identify company-initiated recommended projects as well as recommended Government-funded projects in support of Command Destruct, Data Handling and Range Safety subsystems
- Provide systems engineering oversight and leadership for products and/or processes including the identification and review of changes to the Configuration Item (CI) tree as it relates to assigned subsystems
- Serve as the primary RGNext Engineering POC to the Government for assigned subsystems
- Provide project systems engineering and integration support to assigned internal and external projects as they relate to assigned subsystems
- Participate in and brief Government Project Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings to ensure systems engineering and integration needs and assigned activities and milestones are completed on time
- Develop inputs to basis of estimates and proposals in support of Command Destruct, Data Handling and Range Safety-related efforts
- Analyze, develop, recommend, and implement approaches to meet all assigned tasks and milestones
- Prepare technical documentation including briefing material and reports to communicate information to appropriate personnel including leadership and external customers

Required Experience
- BS degree in STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math)
- Five or more years’ experience in an Engineering or technical environment with an emphasis on Systems Engineering
- Experience working with Windows based computer systems and components and Office tool suite
- Experience working with Project IPTs
- Fundamental knowledge of the engineering lifecycle and systems engineering processes
- Working knowledge of the Cape Canaveral Air Force Base Launch Range and its instrumentation preferred
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License
