Mailing Data Processing Specialist and Prepress Operator
Range Printing is a growing company that provides “Everything Print”. Our services include creative marketing solutions through paper print, apparel decoration, promotional items, fulfillment, and web-based services. We are currently looking to hire a Mailing Data Processing & Prepress Operator to join our Brainerd team.
Job Summary:
The Mailing Data Processing Specialist is responsible for processing data, preparing data for output, creating print templates according to client and US Post Office requirements, as well as contributing to the development of client data management and marketing solutions. In addition to the mailing data responsibilities the person to fill this position will also get involved in prepress design and artwork along with assisting at times with production in the digital and mailing departments.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Receives data files from Clients, checks validity, and formats for importing into Mail Manager
- Run data verification using CASS and NCOA, and prepares files for inkjet and/or laser imaging.
- Process marketing data according to client requirements using BCC software, established specifications and procedures, and US Postal Service requirements.
- Review, clear, and upload electronic documentation to the USPS PostalOne website for mailings we prepare prior to submission to the USPS bulk mail center.
- Prepare data for output to a variety of devices in printed and electronic media.
- Assist with production team daily pulling and sorting.
- Collaborate with other departments and functions to achieve creative and efficient solutions to client objectives.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of project details.
- Work closely with the Production managers to ensure and document standard operating procedures that support data quality and production efficiency.
- Assists in the Pre-press department supporting the production process using Adobe applications such as Acrobat, Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop to generate proofs and plates.
- Assists in Digital and Wide-Format departments operating various digital and bindery equipment.
- Assists sales team with customer questions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- 2-year Associates Degree is preferred, but it is not required with equivalent professional experience.
- A strong knowledge of Windows and MS Office.
- Proficient in the use of database tools and another data-manipulation software (e.g., MS Excel).
- Aptitude for accurately manipulating large amounts of data, which in turn requires lengthy periods of concentration, a high level of attention to detail and a passion for organization and accuracy.
- Exposed to programming is preferred, but not required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
