Job Description
The Plant Superintendent is responsible for managing daily operations of the site, including supervision of all hourly employees. Responsible for budgeting, mine planning; permitting; working as a member of the plant management team to achieve operational goals and objectives; managing contracts and contractors; and community relations. You will work to comply with all MSHA/OSHA regulations, implementation of company guidelines and safety policies.
- Responsible for preventive, predictive, and corrective plant, and mobile equipment maintenance
- Direct production to meet quality and quantity requirements and coordinate adjustments to the production schedule as needed
- Responsible for producing material per project specifications.
- Manage employee time and attendance
- Responsible for employee compliance with all department operating policies, procedures, and safety rules
- Responsible for coordinating communication and directives with labor force, Company personnel, and management
- Supervise, coach, train, and administer discipline to assigned personnel
- Assure the safety of plant personnel through compliance with MSHA regulations
- Review, approve and prioritize work requests for mechanical repairs and all safety and work permits
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mining
- Three (3) years of operations experience
- Experience with civil, mining equipment, and mass excavation
- Demonstrated leadership qualities, delegation skills, and strong organizational capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal English language skills and communication with reports, peers, management, and clients
- Ability to form and foster collaborative relationships within the Company and with customers
- Commitment to teach and train others
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., safely climb ladders, and regularly walk on uneven ground
