Ranney School seeks an Upper School Computer Science teacher for the 2025 - 2026 School Year. Housed within our Computer Science, Technology, and Engineering Department, this teacher will teach AP Computer Science Principles as well as a three-year sequence: Honors Computer Science, AP Computer Science A, and Data Structures & Algorithms. The department also offers courses in engineering and robotics, and its offerings feature centrally in the requirements for our optional graduation certificate in S.T.E.A.M.

The Ideal Candidate:
- will have an advanced degree in Computer Science, technology education, or a related field, and experience teaching high school.
- will be enthusiastic about teaching computer science toward high academic standards and meaningful real-world applications
- will be as adept at inspiring new learners of computer science as challenging students who are well into college-level work
- will have a growth mindset both personally and professionally
- will foster collegial interactions with one’s peers and kind, positive, productive interactions with students and parents
- may have the expertise, flexibility, and enthusiasm to teach in adjacent disciplines, especially mathematics, engineering, or robotics
- Teach five sections of Upper School Computer Science (and potentially mathematics or engineering)
- Mentor students in advisory and co-curricular activities, participate in division and department meetings, and serve in various supervisory roles.
- Facilitate an offering in the Upper School’s “Maymester” program, an experiential education program that takes place over the last two weeks of the school year.
