Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Manager. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the accounts payable process, managing a team of accounts payable specialists, and overseeing all aspects of vendor payments and invoice handling, including the use of a PO process and three way match within SAP/Cherrywork. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal departments and external vendors. The Accounts Payable Manager will lead initiatives to streamline processes, enhance controls, and reduce costs while ensuring compliance with company policies and financial regulations. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the financial health of the organization and make a significant impact through managing a key component of our financial operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices.
- Lead and develop a team of accounts payable specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Implement and refine accounts payable policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Conduct regular audits and reconciliations of accounts payable ledgers to maintain accurate financial records.
- Manage vendor relationships and resolve any payment discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
- Prepare and present regular reports on accounts payable activities, outstanding liabilities, and cash flow management to senior management.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline the procurement-to-payment process and enhance cross-functional communication.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor's degree achieved in Accounting or related field is preferred.
- Seven years of proven experience in accounts payable or a similar role with a minimum of three years as a manager.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficient in using accounting software such as Cherrywork, SAP, Blackline, HFM and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to accounts payable processes.
