Summary

 

The Product Manager is responsible for all aspects of Ranpak’s Voidfill or FillPak  products in the marketplace. The Voidfill product range represents the largest portfolio segment next to cushioning, wrapping, mailers and cold chain paper packaging solutions. This includes positioning of Ranpak products relative to other offerings, analysis of competition, and development of product and pricing strategies to defend and increase market share.  The Product Manager will manage products through their life cycle to maximize profitability and meet growth objectives. 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Product Introductions
    • Develop the product introduction program including marketing & sales tools
    • Align in close cooperation with Sales the project pipeline and go-to-market
    • Business development support
    • Responsible for accurate and relevant current market analyses including key target opportunities
    • Responsible to identify new market opportunities
    • Key performance (financial) metrics
      • Attainment of forecasted revenue and margins
      • Setting supply/capacity forecasts to meet rising demand
    • Portfolio management
      • Manage and support the product category to achieve the target sales and margin objectives
      • Launch and rollout product improvements, with all collateral materials, competitive data, training, and promotion
      • Develop and implement pricing, distribution and promotion strategy.
      • Continuously monitor and analyze financial and quality performance of the product portfolio and

initiate improvements to maximize customer satisfaction.

  • Support the commercial organization with up to date and relevant sales & marketing tools.
  • Coordinate changes of existing products with sales, engineering and customers.
  • Track and analyze competitor activities and develop adequate strategies and tactics
  • Provide yearly budgetary input (CAPEX and paper sales)
  • Market Intelligence
    • Responsible for complete and accurate Market Intelligence including:
      • Voice of the Customer (partner and consumer)
      • Market sizing and segmentation
      • Competitive information and trends
    • Formulate and Manage Tactical Marketing Strategy
      • Marketing collateral content requirements
      • Market/application trends
      • Market pricing
      • Product positioning
      • Development of Value propositions and digital campaigns
    • Product Stewardship
      • Coordinate changes to products with sales, marketing, production, purchasing, R&D, customer service and IP resulting in an agreed product roadmap
      • Work with engineering (R&D) to identify opportunities to improve existing products and develop product line extensions
      • Manage all aspects of timely, complete, and relevant communication to the business (across all functions - sales, marketing, production, purchasing, R&D, customer service and IP) on product introductions and changes
      • Work with Packaging Engineering, and Engineering to develop training and provide tools necessary to maximize sales
      • Work with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and other Product Managers to ensure adequate supply internally and externally (through use of contract manufacturers)

Qualifications

  • BA or BS in Marketing or Business
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in Product Marketing including ownership of the strategy and development of a Product Line
  • Retail and E-commerce experience preferred
  • Direct experience in successfully developing new products
  • Life cycle project management experience
  • Ability to perform market research and analysis including identifying new market opportunities
  • Strong leadership, facilitation, and project management skills
  • Effective presenter, excellent written and verbal communication
  • Extensive PC knowledge, including database, spreadsheet, and web
  • Team player, able to build business teams and manage across a matrix
  • Able to manage multiple priorities
  • Travel: ~35%
