POSITION SUMMARY :

The Special Care Coordinator (SCC) is responsible to meet memory care residents’ needs and develop and manage activities in the special care unit, in accordance with resident need, current federal, state, & local regulation, health, sanitary & infection control policy, and all company policies and procedures. The SCC works directly with the operation and clinical management staff to ensure the highest degree of care is maintained for each resident at all times.

Education and Qualifications :

  • Must possess a current CPR certification.
  • Certified Dementia Practitioner designation preferred.
  • Activity Director certification strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate in English and have the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must possess and demonstrate the ability to carry out both verbal and written directions.
  • Must possess and demonstrate good interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with supervisors, co-workers and community leadership in the performance of duties.
  • Ability to observe proper safety and sanitary techniques.
  • Ability to work hours as scheduled based on the requirements of the position / assignment.
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health and safety of others in the workplace.
  • Experience :

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in long-term care and with adults with cognitive decline.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, or Medication Aide.
