What are the responsibilities and job description for the Livestock Supervisor position at Rantoul Foods?
General Description
Areas of Responsibilities include: receiving docks, barn, office area, circle pen, drive-up area and Butina.
Responsible for managing areas for safety hazards or potential hazards to Rantoul Foods employees or property.
Responsible for training, developing, accountability, hours, monitoring overtime, timekeeping, overall manning and managing staff members within Livestock Department.
Maintain a good working relationship with farmers and truckers.
Ensure all employees are properly SQF/USDA trained, receive certification and monitor recertification on hog handling.
Responsible for Rantoul Foods procedures as they are written or outlined.
Other duties may be assigned as required.
Qualifications Required
Has a desire to work with numbers and data entry spreadsheets.
Required to be computer literate and Excel proficient.
Have a developed and rounded understanding of the barn activities and processes.
Be able to interact with other areas of the plant and explain assigned duties.
Have a flexible approach to work, be a team player and be able to cover for others during absences.
Be prepared to work long hours, including weekends.
Be a critical thinker, using logic and reasoning to identify situational issues.
Be an active listener, taking time to understand the points being made and asking questions as appropriate.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 per year
