Diamond Processing Associate
Leading auction house in New York City is seeking an experienced, energetic and motivated Graduate Gemologist with a passion for diamonds and jewelry to join our team. This role is an in-house position and is responsible for assisting in the preparation of our monthly diamond and jewelry auctions. We are seeking a team-oriented individual, with a strong work ethic and a desire to be a part of our dynamic culture.
Reporting to the Processing Team Manager, the Processing Associate’s responsibilities will include supporting all intake and preparation for our Melee and Single Stone auctions and providing supplemental assistance for our Jewelry auctions.
This is a full-time position based in New York.
Duties:
- Process and receive all merchandise in preparation of auctions
- Maintain main tracking databases of all incoming and outgoing diamonds
- Assist Trade Manager with preparation of all sales and auctions
- Perform data entry and assist with the preparation of auction catalogs
- Update trading accounts with client information and submission details
- Assist with diamond testing, sarining, and treatment checks
- Track, manage, and update all client charges incurred
- Review stones and provide recommendations for certification
- Coordinate all shipments of merchandise to and from clients before and after auctions
- Assist with basic quality control and intake of jewelry
- Provide exceptional service to all trading clients
