Rapid City Medical Center has full-time Radiology Manager position available. This role is responsible for planning, organizing and directing all aspects of the Radiology Department in the clinic.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Supervises Radiology Department Staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manages radiologic services in accordance with clinical and governmental standards and within an established budget.
- Facilitates the development and achievement of mission, goals, policies, budget, work methods.
- Evaluates and maintains the quality of radiographs and films, procedures and services.
- Selects, orients/trains, monitors, evaluates department staff including radiology technologists.
- Reviews department performance and ensures compliance, accreditation, legal and other regulatory requirements.
- Collects/analyzes data, prepares and presents information/statistics for administrative and regulatory purposes.
- Serves as liaison with medical staff.
- Ensures maintenance of equipment and materials. Researches and introduces new equipment and techniques and conducts related in services.
- Monitors patient flow, handles complaints, uses TQM methods to improve methods and systems.
EDUCATION: BS, completion of course in radiologic technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
EXPERIENCE: Minimum three years' experience as radiologic technologist; two years supervisory experience including administrative/budgetary duties.
REQUIREMENTS: Current certification (AART) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of the principles, practices, techniques of radiology to direct and backup the activities of staff.
- Knowledge of radiology standards to monitor and evaluate work of technologists.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology sufficient to pinpoint area for radiography.
- Knowledge of radiology equipment and testing to determine needs and evaluate equipment for purchase.
- Knowledge of safety requirements to provide instructions and to recognize and correct hazardous conditions.
SKILLS:
- Skill in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency situations, identifying and resolving problems.
- Skill in writing reports and preparing correspondence.
- Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance.
- Skill in providing guidance and instruction to technologist.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.
ABILITIES:
- Ability to evaluate utilization statistics and other data and make program recommendations.
- Ability to determine budget needs and maintain expenditures within budget.
- Ability to communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with staff.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: Combination of office and radiology settings. Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation,
medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic
environment.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Combination of sedentary, walking, lifting, bending, reaching activities. Requires normal vision range. Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds. May need to transfer patients up to 300 pounds. Performs complex and varied tasks requiring independent knowledge. Occasional stress from balancing multiple demands.
