Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Construction Scheduling Manager with experience in the construction industry to join our team. The Dispatch Scheduler will be responsible for efficiently scheduling and coordinating the daily activities of our field crews, equipment, and materials to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. This role requires excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a strong understanding of construction operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain daily and weekly project schedules, optimizing crew and equipment utilization.
- Coordinate the dispatch of crews, equipment, and materials to job sites, considering project timelines, resource availability, and geographical locations.
- Proactively anticipate and resolve scheduling conflicts or changes, minimizing disruptions to project progress.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, field supervisors, and crew members to provide schedule updates and address any concerns.
- Monitor real-time progress of field crews and equipment, making necessary adjustments to the schedule as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of schedules, dispatches, and equipment utilization.
- Collaborate with the maintenance department to schedule preventative maintenance and repairs for equipment, minimizing downtime.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies related to dispatching and scheduling.
- Identify opportunities to improve scheduling efficiency and resource utilization.
- Assist in the preparation of reports related to scheduling, productivity, and resource allocation.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics or supply chain management a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in dispatching or scheduling within the construction industry or similar field.
- Strong understanding of construction operations, equipment, and materials.
- Proficiency in using dispatching software and other relevant computer applications.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with local geography and traffic patterns.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
