Service Writer

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Service Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and possess mechanical knowledge to effectively communicate with customers and technicians.

Responsibilities:
- Communicate with customers to understand vehicle issues and service needs
- Write accurate repair orders and provide detailed descriptions of services required
- Schedule appointments
- Provide estimates for automotive repairs and services
- Coordinate with technicians to ensure timely completion of work
- Maintain customer records and update service history
- Handle cash transactions and process payments accurately
- Maintains professional appearance and keeps work area clean and organized

Experience:
The successful candidate should have the following skills and experience:
- Prior experience in customer service within an automotive or related industry (2 Yrs)
- Knowledge of automotive diagnostics, brake repair, tires, and alignments on vehicles (all classes of vehicles). Our shop focuses on 3/4 ton and up vehicles including semi trucks/trailers.
- Ability to handle cash transactions and perform basic accounting tasks
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and technicians
- Mechanical knowledge to understand vehicle issues and recommend appropriate services

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 35 per week
