Reports To: Controller

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for managing various financial tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, financial reporting, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes.

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for managing various financial tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, financial reporting, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including timely processing and recording of invoices, payments, and receipts.
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to financial transactions.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
- Help in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Assist in the implementation and improvement of accounting procedures and internal controls.
- Stay updated with changes in accounting regulations and ensure compliance.
- Provide support during audits and collaborate with auditors as needed.
- Perform other ad-hoc financial tasks and projects as assigned.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Superior attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle multiple projects at once, switching between various tasks quickly.
- Strong knowledge of industry protocols and best practices
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
Knowledge, Skill & Other Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other related field; preferred
- Proven experience as an Accounting Specialist or similar role
- Strong knowledge of accounts receivable principles and best practices
- Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge of GAAP and familiarity with relevant accounting regulations and standards.
- Experience with ERP systems; a plus
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
