DescriptionRapidFire Safety & Security is seeking a skilled and experienced Fire Alarm Inspector to join our team. The Fire Alarm Service Technician will be responsible for inspections and testing fire alarm systems in compliance with National Fire Alarm Code NFPA 72, currently adopted edition.Responsibilities : Follows an established schedule to inspect automatic fire alarm and sprinkler systems at the customer premises.Inspects control panels and wiring for trouble indications.Tests and inspects the condition / operability of devices (sensors), standby battery, power sources, and alarm transmitting controls.Simulates alarm conditions at initiating points by using test switches and valves, or by carefully applying heat, test smoke or manufacturers specified methods or devices.Ensures alarm signals are properly transmitted by the controls and received by the monitoring Customer Service Center.May make minor repairs of systems by replacing inoperative circuit boards, damaged components, low batteries, etc.Maintains tests and inspection records for the customer locations. Also assists representatives from the branch, fire insurance, fire rating or alarm certification community in the testing of customer systems.Complete miscellaneous tasks assigned by supervisors.May need to direct / coordinate activities of Service Technicians, Subcontractors, or others assigned to Inspectors jobs.Performance Metrics : Number of fire inspections completed as compared to inspections due monthly.Perform job responsibilities listed above on a consistent basis.Proper documentation of inspections issues / actions / resolution both internally and externally.Communication and teamwork with district departments and other company personnel.Ability to project professionalism and a positive image to customers and suppliers.Qualifications : High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electronics, electrical systems, or fire alarm technology is preferred.Minimum of 1 year of experience working in the fire industry or in a related field.Knowledge of fire alarm systems, components or various types of fire alarm equipment.Familiarity with fire alarm standards, such as NFPA 72 requirements.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and subcontractors.Valid driver's license and clean driving record.#J-18808-Ljbffr
