Raritan Valley Community College is currently seeking a Part-Time Administrative Assistant to support the Service Learning and Community Outreach Program.
This is a multi-tasked position working as a team member with the administrative and support program staff. The position provides important administrative assistance for the Service Learning and Community Outreach Program to maximize productivity, quality and service to students, faculty and community partners.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare service learning class lists, spreadsheets and program forms at the start of each semester for required and optional service learning components in courses within all academic departments, numerous disciplines and Honors College classes.
Collect, organize and archive service learning registration forms, time sheets and spreadsheets throughout the year that includes students' courses, placements and hours used for tracking and assessment.
Review, edit and mail students their Student Engagement Transcripts documenting service learning experiences.
Assist with student requests in the online Service Learning mailbox as part of program recruitment and retention efforts.
Handle Service Learning community partner database with inputting new contacts and changes that are used for service learning course placement lists.
Assist with conducting regular communication via email with community partners for changes and updates to placements in the community partner database and placement lists for service learning courses to ensure accuracy for students.
Accurately and efficiently perform data entry utilizing data entry tracking.
Prepare certificates for numerous student awards as part of annual recognition program.
Maintain records and prepare purchase orders for President's Volunteer Service Awards for students.
Update all archived student award documents used for public relations, award applications, grants, etc.
Assist with special projects including poll workers, co-curricular volunteering, newsletter and social media.
Provide coverage for Service Learning office including greeting, referring, assisting students and visitors.
Communicate in person, by email and phone with students as needed.
Reserve equipment and conference rooms for presentations and in-office meetings.
Order office supplies from WB Mason.
Assist with developing promotional flyers for programs.
File, copy, route mail.
Cross train to understand and assist other positions when necessary.
Assist with service learning programmatic efforts and office tasks.
Support all efforts associated with the Service Learning Program's mission/vision.
Other support assignments as needed.
Job Requirements:
Associate's Degree, preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Experience with a database system and data entry (Banner/Argos).
Excellent customer service skills, strong organizational and prioritization abilities.
Good communication skills, verbal and written.
Ability to relate to college and community diversity.
Ability to perform simultaneous tasks.
Self motivation and ability to work independently.

Requires sitting, standing, bending, walking, and climbing.
Lift and carry equipment weighing up to 25 pounds for a distance of up to 500 feet.
Requires handling equipment weighing up to 20 pounds while pushing, pulling, lifting, twisting, and reaching while lifting.
Salary : $30,200 - $38,200
