Raritan Valley Community College is currently seeking a Counselor-Mental Health on a part-time basis for the Advising, Counseling & Transfer Department.
*This is a grant funded position*
The counselor will be the primary contact on campus for student mental health issues. The counselor will provide training to the campus community for recognizing and share handling students in need of assistance; and provide emergency and short-term counseling to students.
Essential Duties:
Provide individual short-term counseling for students and make appropriate referrals as needed.
Work individually with instructors and staff to evaluate situations of concern and develop plans to address the concerns. Organize case meetings, if needed.
Communicate with faculty, staff, and students regarding the services available through the Counseling Center.
Maintain records of student contacts and correspondence, with due regard to confidentiality.
Participate in the department and College activities. Participate in staff development, and represent the Center at College-wide activities, open houses, committees, and faculty meetings, as appropriate.
Carrying out other duties assigned.
Job Requirements:
Master's degree required.
Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience developing professional development workshops.
Crisis intervention training and/or experience.
Trauma-informed care experience.
Additional Information:
Salary : $51,700 - $65,500
