What You Will Do

The Technical Writer is responsible for preparing and editing all RateLinx’s technical communications, reference documents, and videos for our software solutions. This role transforms our technical content into user-friendly material and interactive guides. You will use your writing, documenting, and content creation skills to make our propriety systems easier to understand for both internal and external stakeholders.

You will improve the user-experience of our proprietary software by:

• Creating and maintaining high-quality technical guides, user manuals, video tutorials, and release notes for our RateLinx software.
• Gathering, analyzing, translating and composing technical information into clear, understandable documents and videos to be used by technical and non-technical personnel.
• Putting yourself in the mind of both the internal and external end users while describing how to navigate our SaaS platform.
• Collaborating with internal teams to give and receive feedback on the usability, navigability, and functionality of our products.
• Bridging the gap between the software developer’s intended use and the end user’s functional application.
• Meeting with and asking the right questions of Subject Matter Experts to gather the information needed for documentation.
• Proactively investigating and resolving discrepancies in existing documentation.
• Becoming well-versed on the functionality and capabilities of the RateLinx software.
• Being accountable for a timeline of content creation to provide just-in-time support for our users.

Who You Are

• You have a degree in business, writing, communication, and/or another relevant field.
• You have at least 2-3 years in the technical writing and/or document creation space.
• You have experience working with highly specialized and/or proprietary software and are comfortable learning new technologies.
• You are proficient in the tools of the trade (Adobe, Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, etc.)
• You are skilled in making complex concepts easy to understand.
• You excel at organization and time management.
• You experience things from multiple perspectives and can hold multiple unique perspectives simultaneously.
• You hold yourself to a high standard of work and are attentive to the details.
• You enjoy working independently and owning items from start to finish.
• You take responsibility for self-learning and continuously seek feedback on performance.
• You are an excellent written and verbal communicator.
• You work until things get done.
• You have experience in the logistics and transportation industry.
