The Warehouse/Logistics Engineer will play a key role in optimizing warehouse operations, ensuring efficient processes, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance productivity and accuracy. The role will identify and improve the outcomes of operational processes to improve infrastructure, efficiencies, and reduce cost at our North American distribution and warehouse locations.
Essential Responsibilities
- Analyze existing processes, create and implement warehouse metrics and KPI’s, executes process improvement methodologies to support operational initiatives.
- Re-engineer existing business layouts to align them with structure, responsibilities, performance monitoring, information/communication flow, auditing, and improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement automation solutions, such as robotics, conveyor systems, and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for warehouse equipment and systems.
- Train warehouse staff on new processes, equipment, and technologies to ensure smooth implementation and operation.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct process reviews, perform root cause analyses, developing improvement plans implementing lean operational principles.
- Calculate ROI’s and expenses applicable to improvement projects for presentation to both leadership and RO executive team.
- Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement while leading cross-functional teams and monitoring progress.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics or related field preferred; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., MBA) is a plus
- 3 – 5 years’ work experience in a warehouse environment – working knowledge and previous experience of warehouse operations methodologies and all applicable (order selection, product replenishment, goods receiving, inventory control).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems – SAP, etc.
- CAD software and warehouse layout experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop effective solutions.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and familiarity with warehouse automation technologies.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Ability to write and revise standardized work documents (task, sequence, procedures, work instructions, etc.).
- Ability to work in different environments on different tasks as needed within the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality in performing all aspects of the job.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative to drive process improvements
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs on occasion.
- Some travel required (not to exceed 30%)
