Job Title: Mailroom Support Specialist

Department: Operations – Services 

Reports To: RavenTek Program Manager  

Location: Washington DC

Schedule: Monday – Friday   

Hours: Temporary Full-time, 40-hours/week

FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-exempt

Clearance: Secret


Position Summary

The Mailroom Support Specialist will deliver operational and transitional support to a government client, assisting the Transition Team in advancing the program’s mission. This role is vital to RavenTek’s success on the contract and reflects its commitment to supporting the government customer.


Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Transport mail and packages, ensuring timely and secure delivery.
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail and packages under supervision, following established screening and handling protocols.
  • Prepare outgoing mail and packages, adhering to organizational guidelines and ensuring dispatch readiness.
  • Collect unclassified burn bags, deliver supplies, and load/unload mail hampers, Government All Purpose Containers, and Presidential transition gifts.
  • Maintain simple records of mail transactions, deliveries, and supplies for tracking and auditing purposes.
  • Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following workday, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period.
  •  Submit Status Reports to RavenTek Program Manager by deadline provided.
  • Monitor RavenTek email on a regular basis, at least 3 times per week, and respond accordingly.
  • Complete required compliance training as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Critical Skills

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, follow written and oral instructions. 
  • Proficient in the use of office equipment (computers, printers, fax machines, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of postal regulations and shipping methods is a plus.

Education & Work Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a similar role.

  • Secret clearance

Work Environment

Employee will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. Potential moderate temperature fluctuations. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis.


Physical Demands

To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employees must be able to stand for extended periods of time and walk continuously throughout their shift; need to move, lift, push, pull, and carry items that typically weigh up to 50 lbs., such as mailroom equipment and office supplies. The ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, stoop, crouch, and may also need to reach with their hands and arms and use their muscles for extended periods will be required for this position. The work may involve moderate exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, and unpleasant odors. Employees must have the endurance to perform repetitive tasks over extended periods. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
