The Human Resource Assistant is a member of the Human Resources (HR) team and serves as a resource to both internal and external clients to provide excellent service through a variety of responsibilities related to all cycles of an employee’s experience. Assists with HR processes such as recruitment, onboarding, benefits, and employee documentation. This position will also be responsible for managing Ravenwood giveaway items for community events and supporting other areas of HR as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs.
- Is effective in establishing rapport and building a collaborative relationship with all staff as well as providing Senior Leadership with guidance on policies.
- Assist employees with our human resource information system (HRIS), Paycor, ensuring they are full trained.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory employment related documentation including but not limited to continuing education or training and work assessments, safety training, workplace practice training, professional licensure, and exams or certifications.
- Supports the recruitment and onboarding process through collaboration with HR team, managers, and employees to ensure consistent and accurate processing of information.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; ensures all work locations have required labor law and worker’s compensation postings adequately displayed.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Assists in audits as needed.
- Assists with other administrative duties as needed, such as maintaining employee records, preparing reports, and scheduling meetings.
- Coordinate Ravenwood gives away items for community events, ordering and maintaining inventory and fulfilling requests.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of U.S. state and federal wage, hour and employment laws.
- Demonstrates exceptional decision making and problem-solving skills and the initiative to contribute ideas and suggestions to improve HR processes
- Adheres to HIPPA Privacy and Security rule mandates
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize effectively, multitask, and work independently
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Teams and SharePoint.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS, and talent management system, Paycor.
- Must have the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Required Education and Experience
- Associates Degree and one year of experience.
- 2 years of experience and a high school diploma in lieu of degree.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
