Are you an aspiring investor with strong technical skills and a passion for software? This private equity firm recently closed its $580M Fund II and is looking for a high-performing Associate to join their Boston-based team. You’ll work directly with ex-Apax, Riverside, and Thoma Bravo talent on complex transactions, portfolio value creation, and origination—all within a lean, collaborative environment.

The Opportunity
Founded in 2019, this software-focused PE firm targets businesses with <$100M in revenue and invests $50M–$150M per deal. With deep domain expertise in application software, infrastructure, payments, and software-based services, the team applies a value-creation playbook post-close that drives long-term, profitable growth.
With two Associates already on board and strong deal flow from their recently closed fund, they’re ready to bring on a third. The role will give you full exposure to every aspect of private equity investing—execution, value creation, and sourcing.

The Associate Role
- Conduct industry and company-level due diligence and market research
- Build and present financial models and forecasts
- Prepare investment memorandums and present to the Investment Committee
- Work directly with portfolio company leadership on value creation initiatives
- Help source deals and develop relationships with founders and executives
Key Challenges
- Lean team = real responsibility and accountability from day one
- High expectations for technical modeling and communication skills
- Fast-paced environment with complex transactions and full deal exposure
Your Background
- 2–4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, consulting, or equity research
- Strong financial modeling skills (Excel essential; PowerBI/Tableau a plus)
- Strong academic background; top-tier GPA preferred
- Ties to Boston or desire to relocate
- Exposure to software/tech is a plus but not mandatory
