Gateway SRA is looking for warm, enthusiastic, and patient individuals interested in being summer camp counselors for children with special needs. Counselors are individuals looking to develop career-building skills such as leadership, communication, problem-solving and relationship management abilities. Duties :
- Supervision and safety :
- Actively monitoring campers during all activities including mealtimes, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and responding to any accidents or emergencies.
- Group management :
- Maintaining order and positive group dynamics, resolving minor conflicts, and providing guidance to campers.
- Communication :
- Regularly updating Site Supervisor on camper progress, addressing concerns, and maintaining open communication.
- Recordkeeping :
- Maintaining attendance logs, activity reports, and documenting incidents and behaviors
- Staff collaboration :
- Working effectively with other counselors and camp staff to deliver a cohesive program and a positive and inclusive camp environment
