What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Writer/Bicycle Technician position at Ray's Bike Shop?

Ray's Bike Shop is looking for a service writer and technician to join our team this spring in either our Bay City or Midland location!

Past bike shop experience is a plus, but not needed. The position is full-time (40hrs/wk) from March thru August with the chance of overtime. September thru February may adjust to part time (30hrs/wk) depending on demand.
Responsibilities
- Estimating and checking in work orders at the service counter.
- Performing quality bicycle assembly, repair, and maintenance on a schedule.
- Helping guests with product questions, advice and selling parts/accessories.
- Processing warranty claims with our suppliers.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service skills and a friendly attitude are a must.
- Good mechanical ability and the willingness to learn new skills. (Previous bicycle training is a bonus)
- Good problem solving skills and ability to diagnose mechanical problems.
- Good time management and ability to complete work on a schedule.
