Litigation Paralegal
About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our client team and provide support for a dynamic and diverse caseload. This is an on-site position focusing on civil rights, medical malpractice, personal injury, and other tort claims. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to litigation support.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with client intake, interviews, and meetings to gather essential case details.
Draft and respond to discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission.
Prepare and file disclosures, pleadings, and case summaries in compliance with court rules and timelines.
Conduct thorough investigations and research, including legal research, witness interviews, and evidence gathering.
Organize and manage case files, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and easily accessible.
Support trial preparation by creating trial binders, exhibits, and witness lists, and coordinating logistics.
Attend trials and provide in-court support, including managing exhibits and assisting attorneys as needed.
Monitor case calendars and deadlines to ensure timely filings and responses.
Handle other assigned tasks to support attorneys and the legal team.
Key Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
Paralegal certification or equivalent legal training.
3 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, with exposure to civil rights, personal injury, and medical malpractice cases.
Proficiency in legal research tools such as LexisNexis or Westlaw.
Strong drafting skills for pleadings, discovery, and case summaries.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
Location: On-site position based in Southfield, MI
