We are seeking a motivated Survey Field Technician to join our client in Towson, MD. This position provides vital support to the Survey Crew Chief in performing boundary, topographic, and construction surveys. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, has the physical ability to carry equipment (up to 50 pounds), and possesses basic mathematical skills. Previous experience with construction plans and stakeout techniques is preferred but not required.
Assist the Survey Crew Chief in performing boundary, topographic, and construction surveys on job sites.
Set up, operate, and maintain survey equipment including total stations, GPS, and levels.
Collect field data accurately, including measurements of land boundaries, elevations, and other survey points.
Mark and stake property boundaries and key locations according to survey data.
Maintain survey equipment and tools, ensuring they are in proper working order.
Ensure a safe working environment by following all safety protocols on the job site.
Transport and organize materials, tools, and equipment needed for each job.
Record measurements and other survey data accurately for later analysis by the Survey Crew Chief.
Assist in the preparation of field reports and documentation of survey results.
Review survey data and drawings for accuracy and clarity.
Provide support during complex surveys, including assisting with more detailed measurements and layouts as directed by the Survey Crew Chief.
Assist in the calculation of earthwork quantities, distances, and elevations for construction projects.
Work closely with other team members, project managers, and clients to ensure project goals are met.
Report any discrepancies or challenges encountered in the field to the Survey Crew Chief.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Prior survey or construction experience is a plus but not required.
Ability to carry up to 50 pounds and work outdoors for extended periods.
Basic mathematical abilities and an understanding of construction plans and stakeout techniques is preferred but not required.
Valid driver's license and a good driving record required.
