What are the responsibilities and job description for the Roofing Salesperson position at Rayford Roofing?
Hi, my name is Tanner and I'm a partner here at Rayford Roofing. We've been in business coming up on 8 years. We're actively looking to build out our sales team, one person at a time. This means dedicating a good chunk of time to training, support, and basically just making sure you're happy and operational.
This ad is really only for people with experience in roofing sales. Honestly, I have the feeling there are a lot of salespeople out there who are unhappy with their current companies, and this is my chance to tell you a little bit about why we're different.
So here it goes.
Why you should considering bringing your book of business to Rayford:
#1. Lighting fast project management. (This is, in my opinion, the biggest thing.) Get daily updates from me on all your jobs on our CRM. Track the status of each project. I personally manage that stuff. I usually do all the phone calls. We do most of our contracts by DocuSign, so you don't have to carry paper contracts unless you want to. Also: call me anytime with questions about your pipeline. I'm big on being organized and it's going to translate into more sales for you and us.
#2. Expense reports with ALL receipts attached. When we pay out on a project, you get a pdf of roughly 5-10 pages with all receipts attached. Materials, labor invoices, Home Depot runs. Whatever. So you don't have to guess if the commission is right. You can actually see it for yourself.
#3. No more sitting your own jobs or scheduling them. Once you sell the roof, your job's done. Someone from Rayford will come to the build, check in with the homeowner in the morning, and do a follow-up call in the evening. Our crew is fantastic. Matching shirts, nice trucks, yard sign in the front. So, again, no more going to your own jobs unless you want to. I have always felt like this is backwards and I think salespeople should be focused on selling, not sitting jobs.
#4. Same roofing crew for 7 years. This doesn't so much matter to you, but it show's that we're easy to get along with here. Our primary crew has been with us since Feb 2018. My sales manager has been with us since April 2018 (his name is Anthony, he's the one who will be providing you with all the sales support). This is very much a family business. Anthony and I are both married with kids.
#5. Stop doing my job. Your job is to build a book of business and sell roofs. My job is: HOA applications, permits, follow-ups with the customers, scheduling, sending DocuSign contracts, paying out commissions and... TDI Windstorm (if you know what this is, you know the headaches I deal with). Anthony is here to assist you in sales. That can be anything from providing materials (shirts, folders, brochures), to additional training, going out in the field, converting more yes's.
#6. Project capacity. You won't need to wait on the company to schedule out months. Yes, during the busy season it can be 2-3 weeks, but that's about it. We run 2 crews pretty much all year round, and we'll take on a 3rd crew during the summer if we need to. We can crank out 10 roofs a week at 30 sqs, so no more waiting months to get your roof built. That truly is one of the benefits of being a tight-knit family owned business.
#7. We can take on projects outside of roofing. We do elaborate interior projects, from flooring to drywall, we subcontract solar panel installs, we do siding, full house painting and more. Once a customer knows you and trusts the business, you can offer all kinds of extras.
Commission details:
-50/50 split.
-No more "office fees," or whatever they're calling them. It's a true 50/50, with expense reports and receipts attached.
-$20/hour weekly advance for generating business. We pay out up to 20 hours of door knocking per week to help keep you on track. This comes out of future commissions, but it keeps you motivated and earning while you build your book of business.
So. Get a true 50/50, drop all the project management, get paid lightning fast, no more roof sitting, no more scheduling.
Certainteed Shinglemaster, OC Preferred. I don't personally sell a lot of GAF but if that's your thing I'm happy to do that too.
