Raymore-Peculiar School District is seeking an experienced, innovative, and results-oriented Assistant Director of Facilities and Construction Management to join our team! This individual supports the day-to-day operations of the district's facilities, maintenance, and construction management functions. This position ensures that district facilities are maintained efficiently, safely, and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The Assistant Director works closely with the Director of Facilities and Construction Management to oversee staff, coordinate projects, and manage resources to support a safe and effective learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the management of daily maintenance operations, ensuring that all buildings, grounds, and facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained.
- Assist with supervising maintenance, custodial, and grounds personnel to ensure high-quality work and efficiency.
- Assist in scheduling preventive maintenance and responding to emergency repairs.
- Assist with planning and overseeing construction, renovation, and capital improvement projects.
- Monitor work progress and provide updates to the Director.
- Ensure district facilities comply with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Assist in conducting routine inspections of buildings and grounds, identifying maintenance needs, and coordinating necessary repairs.
- Support emergency preparedness efforts, including developing response plans and coordinating with safety personnel.
- Respond to emergency situations for the purpose of addressing immediate department concerns.
- Participate in district and departmental meetings, workshops, committees, and inservices, identifying issues, developing recommendations, supporting other staff, and providing recommendations for facility improvements.
- Provide leadership and guidance to ensure efficient and high-quality work performance.
- Support recruitment and retention efforts for facilities staff.
- Estimate costs of repair projects and plan for time, materials and funding for needed projects.
- Communicate information, gain feedback, and ensure adherence to established internal controls.
