Des Moines-Winterset Memorials is seeking a hardworking, enthusiastic, and dependable full-time Monument Installer to handle the preparation and installation of granite memorial monuments in cemeteries.
This role includes digging foundations, placing finished monuments, and ensuring each installation meets high-quality standards. This is a hands-on, physical position that involves working outdoors in all weather conditions and requires a strong commitment to completing tasks with precision and care.

What You’ll Do:
- Drive to cemetery gravesites to install monuments, follow maps, diagrams, and written specifications
- Dig trench for foundation using mini-excavator and/or hand tools
- Mix and pour concrete/mortar
- Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure the surface of concrete, and waterproof or restore surface
- Remove the monument from the truck bed and guide it onto the foundation using skids, hoist, or truck crane
- Set monument in place, according to layout or pattern
- Hand-polish and/or machine-polish memorials
- Clean and repair memorials as required
- Assist with cleaning and maintenance of company vehicles
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality according to assigned schedule
- Other duties as needed or required
What We’re Looking For:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and minimum of one year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to operate work-related machinery including excavator, truck-mounted crane, and hand tools
- Able to work in various weather conditions
- Ability to lift to 70 lbs.
- Must possess current CDL and be insurable
- Must be reliable, professional, and be able to follow instructions
