We are looking for a reliable LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) to care for clients struggling with primary Substance Abuse and secondary Mental Health disorders in a professional and considerate manner. Quality client care is absolutely essential and is expected from each employee. You will work under the supervision of a registered nurse and doctor. LPN professionals must be first and foremost qualified and compassionate. The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing diverse basic care to those who need it while remaining patient and calm. It is a demanding job but also very rewarding.

II. Primary Duties
A. Reports directly to the Director of Nursing.
B. Completes Initial Nursing Assessment and begins to develop the plan of care.
C. Responsible for administering prescribed medication in accordance with Local, State and Federal regulations.
D. Monitors and documents any behavioral changes that may be related to medication administration.
E. Transcribe and follow all orders from Doctors and Nurse Practitioners.
F. Collaborate with other members of the interdisciplinary team in order to provide the best client care.
G. Ensure that all documentation is thorough and reflects the client’s medical and psychiatric condition.
H. Responding to any client in acute distress and administering First Aid or CPR as necessary.
I. Ensure that Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) inventory is accounted for each shift according to agency policy.
J. Ensure that client medication is reconciled to prevent missed dosages and medication errors.
K. Ensure arrival for each shift 10 minutes prior to beginning of shift.
L. Any other duties assigned by the Chief Nursing Officer, Director of Nursing or Administrator.
M. Adhere to personnel policies.
Skills
- Proven experience as LPN
- Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team
- Familiarity with substance use and mental health disorders recommended
- Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices
- Excellent knowledge of medical terminology
- Good knowledge of MS Office and data entry
- Perfect physical condition and stamina
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and able to handle stress
- Successful completion of LPN license program is a must
